Steps to Order Cybersource and Integrate it with The Studio Director

If you are a Canadian merchant, call us (719-302-6029). If you are a US merchant, continue with step 2.
Go to the Cybersource website at:

Click on the "Get Details" button in the lower right hand side of the page
Order Package 3. Essentials Plus: All-In-One Package.
Do NOT order Packages 2 or 4 unless you have another merchant account that you know will be compatible with Cybersource. If you have any questions about the different payment gateway and internet merchant account options, give us a call.
DO NOT order the Authorize.net products; they will not work. Cybersource bought Authorize.net recently and the sales teams will sometimes point small merchants to Authorize.net. Be sure to order the Cybersource products through the website link above, not over the phone. If you need to talk to a Cybersource sales representative to answer initial questions or for help at any point in the application/setup process, please use this direct Cybersource sales number: (866) 876-2714.
Once you get signed up and approved, Cybersource will send you two "welcome" emails. One with a login to their business center and the other with the password.
Log in to the Cybersource business center one time and answer the security questions.
Log in to The Studio Director.
Click on the Admin tab, under Manage Studio Info, click on Enter Merchant Login
Enter the Cybersource business center login and password and press OK.
Do NOT e-mail us the password. E-mail is not a secure form of communication. By entering the password into The Studio Director directly, the password will be encrypted before it is sent over the internet.
We will be notified, we will integrate your account with The Studio Director, and we will send you an email when it is done.

Security Considerations

With emerging compliance standards from different card brands, it is critical that credit card numbers are stored securely by using merchant gateways that have implemented the newest data security compliance standards of the major card associations - including CISP and PCI. The Studio Director has partnered with two of the largest, most respected merchant gateway companies that specialize in storing and keeping your customer's credit card information secure (Cybersource or PayPal).

When evaluating software options, consider your risk of using software programs that store credit card numbers on your PC or on an Internet server that doesn't comply with these standards. The cost of Cybersource or PayPal may be slightly higher than other less secure options, but reducing the risk of fines from the card associations or losing the ability to process cards is well worth the additional cost.
